Nowadays, it is understood that people prefer watching television series over movies. While a movie gets over very fast, a series is something you can keep watching for quite some time.

Most People also like to watch television series one episode after the other rather than watch it slowly over a longer period of time. While there are probably thousands of television series out there, only some have gained widespread popularity.

So today, we will be looking at the top 10 television series you can start binge watching right now.


#1 Homeland (2011 – Present)


Homeland is a political thriller that centres on the character of CIA agent Carrie Mathison, who does everything she can to protect the United States from terrorist threats.


#2 Wayward Pines (2015 – Present)


Based on the Wayward Pines novels by Blake Crouch, this series begins with secret agent Ethan Burke (the main protagonist) investigating the mysterious disappearance of two agents in the town of Wayward Pines, Idaho. His is then led to several revelations.


#3 Game of Thrones (2011 – Present)


This is probably one of the most famous TV shows that is currently out there. The series, which is based on George R.R Martin’s A Song of Fire and Ice book series, revolves around several royal families who will do anything to sit on the Iron Throne in the fictional land of Westeros.


#4 Supernatural (2005 – Present)


If you are a fan of the X-Files then you will like this series, which revolves around two brothers – Dean and Sam Winchester, who roam around the continental US eliminating supernatural entities.


#5 Penny Dreadful (2014 – 2016)


Penny Dreadful is horror/mystery series based in Victorian England. The series revolves around Vanessa Ives, who employs the help of Wild West showman Ethan Chandler and big game hunter Sir Malcolm as she hunts down the ultimate evil.

Penny Dreadful incorporates many characters of 19th-century British fiction including Dracula, Van Helsing, Frankenstein, and Dorian Gray.


#6 Breaking Bad (2008 – 2013)


Voted as one of the best series of all time, Breaking Bad narrates the story of a chemistry teacher Walter White, who partners with his former student and starts manufacturing and selling crystal meth after being diagnosed with lung cancer.


#7 Rome (2005 – 2007)


Rome revolves around two lead characters Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo, who lives are intertwined with key historical events including the Roman Civil war of 49 BCE, Julius Caesar assassination in 44 BC, the rise of young Octavian (Augustus Caesar) and the suicide of Antony and Cleopatra in 30 B.C. after their defeat at the Battle of Actium.


#8 The Walking Dead (2010 – Present)


Based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, the Walking Dead revolves around protagonist police officer Rick Grimes, who leads a group of people following a zombie apocalypse that rapidly spreads across the United States.

House of Cards is a political thriller that revolves around newly appointed Secretary of State Frank Underwood, who, along with his wife, sets out on a quest to get revenge on the people who betrayed him.

Lost is an adventure/supernatural/mystery series that revolves around a group of people, who are left to fend for themselves after their plane crashes on a mysterious island.
