In the days of yore, trees were not just respected for their properties, but worshiped as well. Think about it, they take in Carbon Dioxide and Monoxide around them and breathe out oxygen, they have known to be guardians of water and can affect weather cycles, as well as conserve the soil. No wonder they are called Mother Nature’s gift to man. Some of the oldest trees are said to be the oldest living beings in the planet, with some of them close to being 5,000 years old. There are a few trees that have created more than 9,000 year old eco-systems, forming forests from one seed.

Here is a list of the oldest living, uncloned trees in the world that still stand tall and majestic

Age: 2,000 to 3,000 years old




9. The President Tree, Giant Sequoia

Located at: Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park

Age: 3,200 years old

Located at: Mount Etna, Sicily, Italy

Age: 2000 to 4000 years old

As mentioned earlier, there are older trees that exist, but most of them are (natural or artificial) clones of other trees and hence cannot be considered. Some of the age estimates may vary among different researchers.
